Alice d’Apolito is an Italian artist who lives, works, and studies Japanese language in Leeds. In her creations, every time she creates a new image of herself, embracing the idea that creation is a process which never ends. Most of her works are autobiographical in nature, describing feelings, dreams, childhood memories and concepts inspired by current affairs and history. Being a self taught painter, Alice’s inspirations come from Japanese culture and surrealistic paintings where she creates her work using mixed media like oils, ink and gouache paint. The things that represent her technique the most are clean lines, full blocks of vivid colors and pale big faces, paying as much attention to details as possible. Alice has exhibited her works in Europe, Asia and the UK, in galleries, art studios, independent bars and café. Her illustrations and comics were published in various magazines, both in the UK and Europe.
